Asahikawa's summer festival, "Asahikawa Summer Festival," will be held for three days from August 1 (Thu.) to 3 (Sat.). The festival opens with the "Doshin Noryo Fireworks Display," followed by a parade of floats and dance troupes, and a variety of other events that add color to Asahikawa's short summer season. In this issue, we will introduce the highlights of the Asahikawa Summer Festival in detail.

On the first night of August 1, after the opening ceremony and ceremonies are held at the Asahibashi Bridge on the Ishikari River, a fireworks display will be held to open the festival. About 4,000 fireworks, including creative fireworks and various starmines, will color the summer night sky of Asahikawa.

On the second day, a "Citizens' Dance Parade" will be held at Kaimono Park, with a total of approximately 2,000 citizens dancing to the Kanko Asahikawa Ondo (Sightseeing Asahikawa Ondo). On the evening of the second day, a "YOSAKOI Soran Night" stage will be held, where teams from the Kamikawa Chuo Branch of YOSAKOI Soran will perform their splendid and powerful dances.

On the final day, the "Taisetsu Rengo Mikoshi", the flower of the Asahikawa Summer Festival, will be held. The mikoshi will be carried in a parade through Kaimono Park with a single, united call.

The finale of the festival is the "Resshatsu Tanabata Festival. The festival concludes with the Taiko Yosakoi Festival, a dynamic procession of floats, a moving finale, and other creative events.

The "Sanrokuma Festival" will be held for three days from August 1 (Thu.), and visitors can enjoy a wide variety of "food" at about 50 stalls and a gourmet food expo. Various stage events will also be staged, and Sanroku Street will be filled with excitement.
