The popular "Sapporo Yakiimo Terrace" event, which first launched in 2023 and drew about 60,000 visitors last year in 2024, is back again this year! Nakajima Park will be filled with a wide array of sweet potato treats, including yakiimo (roasted sweet potatoes) crafted with special methods like pot-roasting and stone-oven baking, as well as sweet potato desserts like cakes and pies. Here's a look at the event's highlights and participating vendors.

In 2025, a record-breaking nine yakiimo booths will be featured. Popular roasted sweet potato shops from Sapporo and its suburbs will offer yakiimo prepared with meticulous methods like pot-roasting and stone-oven baking. Additionally, the much-anticipated sweet potato desserts will include a diverse lineup of sweet potato pies, cakes, fruit sandwiches, churros, and mochi, along with exclusive sweets available only at the event.

Furthermore, this year's operating hours have been extended by one hour, until 20:00. A fall foliage light-up event will be held simultaneously in Nakajima Park, allowing you to enjoy the delicious treats amidst a stunning landscape.

The venue, Nakajima Park, is also famous for its beautiful autumn leaves.

The alcohol booth has been revamped this year! It now features a retro Showa-era "kaku-uchi" (standing bar) style, where you can enjoy sweet potato shochu, craft beer, wine, sake, and rare canned snacks. Additionally, there will be freshly brewed hand-drip coffee and a direct sales corner for fresh vegetables from farmers near Sapporo.
