Heidi, Girl of the Alps 50th Anniversary Special Exhibition: A Look at the Classic Anime Involving Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata
An exhibition celebrating the 50th anniversary of the classic 1970s TV anime "Heidi, Girl of the Alps" is being held at Daimaru Sapporo. The exhibition explores the charm of the magnificent nature and rich culture of the Swiss Alps where Heidi lives, introduces the life of the original author Johanna Spyri and the original book, and provides a detailed look behind the scenes of the anime production involving Isao Takahata and Hayao Miyazaki, with valuable materials from that time.
The exhibition is full of highlights, including depictions of famous scenes, original drawings by character designer and animation director Yoichi Kotabe, a corner displaying nostalgic items, and collaboration works by up-and-coming artists on the theme of "The Future of Heidi." Additionally, the shop adjacent to the venue will feature a wide array of popular goods, including venue-exclusive items, 50th-anniversary commemorative products, and merchandise of characters like Heidi, Yuki-chan, and Josef.
