Sapporo Autumn Fest 2025, which will bring autumn colors to Odori Park, kicks off on Friday, September 12th. This food festival brings together delicious foods from all over Hokkaido, and is packed with all kinds of gourmet food. This time, we'll be touring all seven venues, stretching from Odori Park 4-chome to 11-chome, and introducing seven recommended gourmet foods that you should definitely try at each venue.
- 4th Street: Hakodate Motomachi Carl Raymond House "Currywurst"
- 5th Street: Sapporo Curry Kingdom "3-Curry Set"
- 6th Street: Namaraya, a northern seafood restaurant with skewers and private rooms, offers "fried live octopus."
- 7th Street: "Niseko Pizza" and "Naganuma Cider"
- 8th Street: Setana Town "Sea Urchin Rice"
- 10th Street: Yakiniku Minaho - Shinkin beef rump steak, purchased from a whole cow
- 11th Street: Chef's Kitchen "Semina Chef Tanaka's Veal Stew"
- The event will run until Saturday, October 4th. Come to the Sapporo Autumn Fest!
4th Street: Hakodate Motomachi Carl Raymond House "Currywurst"

4th Street Venue Entrance
The Odori Park 4-chome venue is IN4 Square, the gateway to the Autumn Fest. It's a constantly bustling venue, with many people who pass by being drawn in. We recommend starting with some light food and sweets, and then looking at the map to plan your way around the vast Autumn Fest.

"Hakodate Carl Raymon Currywurst" (1,000 yen)
The dish we had here was the "Hakodate Karl Raymon Currywurst" (1,000 yen). Currywurst is a German B-grade gourmet dish, and is also a popular menu item in Sapporo, at places like the Munich Christmas Market.

A perfect match for carbonated drinks
The sausage is flavorful with herbs, topped with slightly spicy ketchup and curry powder. It's also served with soft, fluffy potatoes, making for a satisfyingly filling meal. I had it with a lemon sour (500 yen). It also pairs well with Sapporo Classic draft beer (700 yen).
5th Street: Sapporo Curry Kingdom "3-Curry Set"

5th Street Venue Entrance
Odori Park 5-chome is home to Hokkaido BAKU BAKU PARK, where famous ramen and curry restaurants are located. The north side of the venue is home to the HOKKAIDO Ramen Festival 2025 in Sapporo, and the south side is home to Sapporo Curry Kingdom. Tickets for both events can be purchased at the ticket booth and exchanged at each booth.

Sapporo Curry Kingdom booth
Ramen is also very popular, but this time we chose Sapporo Curry Kingdom's "3 Curry Set" (1,650 yen). You can choose your favorite 3 types from 4 booths and create your own curry mix.

Apparently, some people enjoy mixing all three types together.
We chose "Hokkaido Mochi Pork Kakuni Ginger Curry" from "E-itou Curry," "17 Spice x Rich Onion Waterless Chicken Curry" from "CURRY KITCHEN onion," and "Sapporo Black Keema Curry with the Rich Flavor of Squid Ink" from "Honjitsuno Curry." At Curry Kingdom, a different curry shop opens every day, so you can try different curries multiple times during the event.
6th Street: Namaraya, a northern seafood restaurant with skewers and private rooms, offers "fried live octopus."

6th Street Venue Entrance
The 6th-Chome venue will be "6th-Chome Food and Music Kanade Delicious!", where you can enjoy the pairing of stage events and food.

A stage where music events are held
On the outdoor stage on the north side, various music events are held in the evenings on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays during the festival. On the first night, Friday, September 12th, we were able to enjoy a live performance by the 11th Band of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force.

Deep-fried live octopus (800 yen)
The dish we had here was "Fried Live Octopus" (800 yen) from "Northern Seafood, Skewers, Private Room Izakaya Namaraya." The octopus was soft, juicy, and packed with flavor, and you could really taste how fresh it was. The crispy, light batter made it a perfect match for a drink. There was also a wide selection of sweets available at the venue, so we recommend enjoying the music with some snacks or something sweet in hand.
7th Street: "Niseko Pizza" and Naganuma Cider

7th Street Venue Entrance
Odori Park 7-chome BAR is a place where you can enjoy Hokkaido-produced alcohol and gourmet food. They offer a wide selection of Hokkaido-produced wines, ciders, craft beers, shochu, sake, and more.

"Funghi & Salsiccia" (3,000 yen)
I had the "Funghi & Salsiccia" (3,000 yen) at "Niseko Pizza," where long queues form every year for the pizza baked in the store's oven. It's a perfect autumn treat, with Kuromatsunai mozzarella cheese, plenty of mushrooms, a fragrant dough, and a refreshing balsamic flavor. It's delicious, and its popularity and the queues are no surprise.

"Naganuma Cider Tabidori" (900 yen)
Alcoholic beverages to accompany the food can be purchased at the Odori Park 7-chome Bar, which is located on the east and west sides of the venue. I chose Naganuma Cider Tabidori (900 yen) from MAOI Winery in Naganuma Town. It had a clean taste and a refreshing apple flavor.

Non-alcoholic "Shine Muscat Soda" (1,300 yen)
The venue offers a wide selection of Hokkaido wines and beers, as well as cute and delicious non-alcoholic drinks such as Shine Muscat Soda (1,300 yen), so even those who don't drink alcohol can enjoy themselves.
8th Street: Setana Town "Sea Urchin Rice"

8th Street Venue Entrance
The 8th block venue is the Sapporo Odori Hokkaido Market, which brings together local specialties from cities and towns across Hokkaido. The market offers a variety of gourmet foods that could be considered Autumn Fest specialties, including Monbetsu's "Grilled Snow Crab Shell" (1,200 yen), Furubira's "Grilled Chips on an Irori-yaki Fireplace" (600-1,000 yen), and Tomakomai's "Hokki Curry" (1,500 yen).

Setana Town's "Sea Urchin Rice" (1,500 yen)
After a hard time deciding what to order from the overwhelming selection of delicious options, I decided on the "Uni Gohan" (1,500 yen) from Setana Town in southern Hokkaido. This luxurious dish is topped with plenty of purple sea urchin from Setana Town, giving it the delicious flavor of the sea.

Plenty of purple sea urchin!
The fluffy sea urchin is slightly sweet and fragrant. The rice has absorbed the umami well, and the pickled ginger is a great palate cleanser. Many dishes at the 8th-Chome venue are only available for a short period of time, making it a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Popular dishes may sell out by the evening, so it's best to go early.
10th Street: Yakiniku Minaho - Shinkin beef rump steak, purchased from a whole cow

10th Street Venue Entrance
"Oniku Jucchome, Connecting You with the Local Producers," a collection of famous meat restaurants, offers a wide selection of beef, pork, lamb, chicken, and other meats, mainly from Hokkaido. The delicious aroma of grilled meat was already wafting from the entrance.

"Beef rump steak" (1,600 yen)
Zangi and Jingisukan are good, but I wanted to eat some real beef! So I chose the "Beef Rump Steak" (1,600 yen) from "Yakiniku Minaho Shinkin Beef Buyout."

It's soft and has just the right amount of chewiness, giving you the feeling that you're actually eating meat.
The steaks, cooked after the order was placed, were juicy and had the pleasant texture of lean meat. The refreshing whole grain mustard added a wonderful accent and went well with beer or red wine. The venue was lined with wooden tables and low chairs, creating a fun, outdoor feel. It felt as if we were grilling and eating meat at a campsite.
11th Street: Chef's Kitchen "Semina Chef Tanaka's Veal Stew"

11th Street venue entrance
The final stop on 11th Street is PRECIOUS TABLE, which offers a more sophisticated experience. The popular Chef's Kitchen offers dishes from famous chefs representing Sapporo, starting at 1,000 yen.

We recommend pairing the Chef's Kitchen menu with alcohol.
The opening days of the event, the 12th and 13th, were Chef Tanaka's days at Sapporo's Italian restaurant "Semina." I enjoyed "Setana Nonaka's veal stew with Kuriyama polenta" (1,000 yen) and "sparkling wine" (1,100 yen).

"Setana Nonaka's veal stew with Kuriyama polenta" (1,000 yen)
It was so soft that it crumbled the moment you put a fork into it. Served with polenta, which brought out the delicious flavor of Kuriyama corn, it was a dish with a gentle yet deep flavor. The Chef's Kitchen, where you can casually enjoy the flavors of a famous restaurant, is a great value and fun event. It may even be an opportunity to visit the actual store.
The event will run until Saturday, October 4th. Come to the Sapporo Autumn Fest!

The venue guide map at the 4th-Chome venue entrance
The Sapporo Autumn Fest venue is very large, stretching for approximately 1km in length. To see the entire venue, we recommend traveling in one direction, from 4-chome to 11-chome, or from 11-chome to 4-chome. Also, because it's a popular event, it may be difficult to find a seat depending on the time of day. Please be aware that you may have to eat standing up in the stands, and that you'll likely be walking a lot in the crowded venue, so please wear comfortable clothing and shoes.
