1-Min Walk from Sapporo Station & Direct Underground Access: The Evolved and Popular Hotel Gracery Sapporo
Hotel Gracery Sapporo boasts a convenient location just a one-minute walk from JR Sapporo Station. Its direct underground connection makes it a worry-free choice even on snowy or rainy days. The hotel is also famous for its breakfast buffet, featuring a make-your-own seafood bowl and a generous spread of Hokkaido dairy products and ingredients.
Hotel Gracery Sapporo, which has now seen a full renewal of its lobby, lounge, and guest rooms, has a long history. Its predecessor, the Washington Hotel, opened in 1973. It has been operating as Hotel Gracery Sapporo since 2006 and is one of the landmark hotels in front of Sapporo Station.
Comfort on the High Floors: Renewed "Executive Floor" & "Ladies' Floor"
Executive Floor Deluxe Twin
A highlight of the high-rise Executive Floors on the 15th and 16th levels is the newly established 30-square-meter "Deluxe Twin Room." It features a spacious layout divided into a living space and a bedroom. Guests can also enjoy authentic coffee, freshly ground from beans with the provided coffee mill.
Ladies' Twin Room
For girls' trips, mother-daughter getaways, or solo female travelers, the rooms on the Ladies' Floor are highly recommended. The interior is bright and charming, with impressive accent walls.
Rooms on the Ladies' Floor are equipped with four different "ReFa" beauty items (shower head, hair dryer, straightener, and beauty roller). Other delightful amenities like face masks and relaxation sheets are also provided.
Access to the Ladies' Floor requires a special key card, ensuring peace of mind when it comes to security.
Executive Floor Double Room
A wide variety of room layouts are available to suit the purpose of your trip and your travel companions. Pictured here is the Executive Double, recommended for solo travelers or couples.
There are also triple rooms, perfect for a group of three.
Executive Floor Triple Room
The triple rooms on the Executive Floor are perfect for family trips or getaways with friends.
A Luxurious Time in the Guest-Exclusive "Executive Lounge"
As you exit the elevator on the front desk floor, you're greeted by a line of natural wood. Japanese elm, maple, and magnolia trees are on display. These woods are said to be from thinned timber from Kobetsuzawa in Nishi Ward, a satoyama (village-mountain) area of Sapporo. It creates a connection between the city and the countryside, the hotel and the region, making you feel as if you've stepped into a Hokkaido forest.
A portion of the lobby is covered with wood chips from Assabu Town in southern Hokkaido, and the sound of a natural stream emanates from a water basin. Despite being in the middle of the city, it has the ambiance of a resort hotel, allowing you to relax from the moment you arrive.
Executive Lounge
The guest lounge on the lobby floor has also been renewed as the "Executive Lounge." It has become a special space exclusively for guests on the Executive Floor and THE FUJITA MEMBERS. Here, you can enjoy original coffee in a space filled with the warmth of wood.
During cocktail time, Hokkaido-produced sake and wine are served, and from 8:00 PM, a limited quantity of smoked delicacies is also available.
The tables, made from local logs, are designed to be comfortable even for solo guests. It's a place where not just couples and families, but also solo travelers can unwind. At the counter, there was a message card from the staff. It's a subtle touch that shows their heartfelt hospitality.
The Famous "Make-Your-Own Seafood Bowl" is Here to Stay! A Breakfast Buffet to Savor Hokkaido Gourmet
Breakfast is a buffet served at the first-floor "Bonsalute Cafe," where you can enjoy a variety of Hokkaido ingredients. I've personally been a fan of their breakfast for a while, and the renewal seems to have made it even more enjoyable.
A pancake machine has been introduced, and you can customize your meal by drizzling it with domestic honey or pairing it with scrambled eggs and bacon.
The make-your-own seafood bowl corner is still here. All-you-can-pour trout roe is the ultimate luxury, even for a Sapporo local!
You can create your own perfect seafood bowl by choosing your favorite toppings like salmon and scallops. The ingredients may vary depending on the day's catch, but it's a hugely popular menu item that offers a true taste of Hokkaido for breakfast.
Local gourmet dishes like stewed Genghis Khan (lamb) and soup curry are also available.
To make the soup curry, simply place your favorite ingredients like steamed vegetables in a bowl and pour the curry over them.
Soup curry warms you up in the morning and is a dish you'll want to eat regardless of the season. It gives you a real feel for Sapporo and Hokkaido.
In addition to rice, there's a wide variety of breads available. You can enjoy them in your own way, by adding different flavors with Hokkaido-made jams like haskap berry and blueberry, or by pairing them with the somewhat rare Tête de Moine cheese.
Tête de Moine cheese has a beautiful, flower-petal-like appearance. It's delicious on its own and also pairs exceptionally well with domestic honey.
While table seating is available, this time I used the counter seats, which are comfortable for solo diners. The restaurant is also open to non-guests, so locals can also pop in for a leisurely breakfast.

In July, the renewal will be complete, including the standard floors, as Hotel Gracery Sapporo continues to evolve. Amidst all the new changes, the subtle consideration and warm hospitality of the staff remain unchanged, which was very reassuring. Whether you're staying overnight or just visiting the restaurant, be sure to check it out.
