What is "Yoi Gohan"?
This time, we would like to introduce "Yoi Gohan," a gourmet food ordered from Rikubetsu-cho, Hokkaido, which is the source of mixed rice at Hamada Ryokan, a ryokan in Rikubetsu-cho, Hokkaido.
This product is canned so that guests can easily enjoy the popular "mazengohan" at home.
The flavor variations are as follows

These canned foods are made with ingredients from Hokkaido, so you can enjoy the taste of Hokkaido easily, and the packages are so cute that you will be excited the moment you receive them.
I feel as if the canned goods are filled with the kind and passionate wishes of a ryokan that has been popular in the region for many years, "I want you to enjoy the delicacies of the East Hokkaido even at home.
This time I ordered the light blue packaged "Ezo Deer & Hokkaido Fuki" Yoi Gohan.
I chose this one because I was attracted by the fact that I could enjoy Ezo deer meat at home and by the unexpectedness of combining it with buki (Japanese sweet bean curd)!
This dish uses Hamada Ryokan's homemade bonito broth to simmer natural Ezo deer meat and wild edible "fuki" in a slightly sweetened broth. The use of high quality venison means that there is no peculiar flavor.
No preservatives or chemical seasonings are used. It can be stored at room temperature for 3 years from the date of manufacture, so it is recommended as a preserved food. It can be used in a snap, making it ideal for outdoor activities.

This time, I will eat half of the dish as "Mixed Rice" and the other half as "Yaki Udon"!
2-1. "Mazengohan" (mixed rice)
First of all, we will start with the classic "mazengohan" (mixed rice). Simply mix half of the "Yoi Gohan" into one cup of cooked rice!
The sweet and sour taste of the rice and the textures of the various ingredients are a perfect match, making the rice go down a treat! The texture of the Ezo deer meat, the soft vegetables such as burdock and carrots that have been stewed, and the chunky rice are irresistible.
The sweetness of the rice is so gentle that you can eat as much as you want.
2-2. "Yaki Udon" (fried udon noodles)
The online store page of "Yoi Gohan" has a recipe for each product.
The "Yaki Udon Noodle with Yezo Deer and Hokkaido Butterbur" and the "Cheese-filled Deer and Butterbur Risotto" are available for Ezo Deer and Hokkaido Butterbur. Deer and butterbur risotto"! This time, I decided to try it with yaki udon!
I made it with half of the recipe.
