What is "Winter Strawberry JAM"?

It is a luxurious jam containing the taste of "Benihoppe", winter strawberries grown in a plastic greenhouse in midwinter.

冬いちごジャム

This strawberry jam is sold at NANA PLAZA, a direct sales shop run by five farmers in Pibu Town.

The limited EXIT version of the label sold during the " Atrophied Poyo Area Buchiage Revitalization Tour," a project conducted in collaboration with Pip Corporation and EXIT!

How "Winter Strawberry Jam" is made

Freshness is the most important factor for strawberries.
The people at NANA PLAZA thought it was a waste to have strawberries left over after the best time to eat them, and that they were thrown away. They have set up a system to harvest the strawberries while they are still delicious and process them into jam.

The strawberries used in this strawberry jam are "Benihoppe" grown in greenhouses during the winter.

紅ほっぺ

This is the third year for the cultivation of Benihoppe. This year is the third year for the cultivation of "Beni Hoppe", which was started as an effort to continue to weave the history of Pippu Ichigo.

NANA PLAZA is also working on cooperation in the field of welfare.
This "agriculture and welfare collaboration" solves the problem of a lack of workers in the agricultural field and the difficulty for disabled persons and others in the welfare field to become financially independent.
They are being asked to do harvesting and weeding work.

What is "NANA PLAZA" that produces and sells winter strawberry jam?

We interviewed Mr. Kitagawa of NANA PLAZA.

ナナプラザ

NANA PLAZA is a direct sales shop that "transmits delicious foods from Pibu" opened in August 2018 by five farmers in Pibu Town.

The reason for the opening was that this location was vacant.

We started it because the location was nice and we thought we could do something interesting."

Located along Route 40 and easily visible to people driving by, the store was created by five farmers of the same generation who share the same passion.

Here is the interior design unique to a direct sales shop made by farmers.

ナナプラザの内装

We were worried about whether a light truck would fit through the entrance, but it did, and so we set up the interior like this to sell our products. It used to be a convenience store, but we changed the walls, counters, and everything else ourselves to make the store what it is today.

Yumepirika" and "Nanatsuboshi," both specialties of Pibu Town, are sold, as well as "specially cultivated rice," which Kitagawa and his staff have carefully and painstakingly produced.

In season, strawberries, sugar cane, and other vegetables grown in town are available for sale, as well as fresh vegetables purchased from farmers in neighboring cities, towns, and villages.

There is also a full menu of take-out items such as smoothies and strawberry soft serve using local strawberries from Pippu, and rice balls made with delicious rice.

いちごパフェ

いちごスムージー

The Domingo editorial staff visited the store and found it to be a very homey atmosphere filled with the farmers' specialties, which made us want to try all kinds of vegetables!
We hope you will apply for a chance to taste the "Strawberry Jam" produced and sold at NANA PLAZA!
