Commemorative event for the 100th anniversary of the rediscovery of the red-crowned cranes: "Symposium on coexistence with the red-crowned cranes - Red-crowned cranes returning to central Hokkaido"
In the future, in order to explore how cranes and humans can coexist in the central Hokkaido region, where the number of cranes is expected to increase, keynote speeches will be given by Masayuki Oishi, mayor of Tsurui Village, who has been working on conservation and coexistence under the "Tsurui Model of the Cranes," and Takayo Hisai, associate professor at the Graduate School of Letters, Hokkaido University, who is knowledgeable about the history of the relationship between cranes and humans. In addition, there will be a panel discussion on the future of cranes and humans coexisting.
