Sapporo Teine

This comprehensive leisure facility on Mount Teine turns the entire mountain into a ski resort in winter. It consists of the "Olympia Zone" near the base and the "Highland Zone" including the summit, and offers a variety of courses.

The 2-kilometer "Women's Giant Slalom Course" and the 700-meter "Men's and Women's Slalom Course," which were used in the 1972 Sapporo Olympics, are courses that any skier would want to try at least once. The course, which starts from the Olympic flame that still remains, gives you the feeling of jumping into Ishikari Bay.

For even more thrills, we recommend "North Wall," a steep descent through the forest. This 6-kilometer beginner's course, the longest in Hokkaido, offers an exhilarating ride down both zones from the summit.

Snow Land is an area in the Olympia Zone where small children can play. They can enjoy sledding and snow tubing.

Hot Cafe 1023 is located at the summit of Mt. Teine, at an elevation of 1,023 meters. They serve light meals such as soba and udon noodles. You can see the cityscape of Sapporo below you, and even the Sea of Japan in the distance. The spectacular view alone makes the climb worthwhile.
