Cape Ohana <Hiyama Provincial Nature Park>
Overview
Until recently, it was considered the "westernmost point of Hokkaido. The cape is located at the passage of the longest tunnel "Ota Tunnel" (3,395m long) on the Kita Hiyama Taisei Route, Road 770, which was completed in 2001, and it is not accessible to the cape. Therefore, it is preferable to view the cape from the Ota Shrine or the Sadatoge (fixed lantern). In fact, the westernmost point of the cape is located in the "Funakakushi" area in Shinshiro, Kita Hiyama Ward. Please do not attempt to reach the westernmost point as it is dangerous.
