SPOT
Samani Dam Campsite
Samani Dam is a gravity-type concrete dam with a dam height of 44m, constructed by Hokkaido in 1975 (Showa 50) with the purpose of flood control in the lower basin of the Samani River. Also, it is a famous cherry blossom spot known by those who know it. It reaches its best viewing time from early to mid-May, and is one of the places in Japan that welcomes the cherry blossom viewing season at the latest time.
In summer, camping and river fishing can be enjoyed. Because it is a hidden gem-like campsite with few users, it is recommended for people who want to get lively to their heart's content with friends. A cooking area is installed, but please be aware that it is not drinking water. The toilet is a pit latrine type.
