SPOT
Samani Dam Campsite
Samani Dam is a 44m-high concrete gravity dam built by Hokkaido in 1975 for the purpose of flood control in the downstream area of the Samani River. It is also a famous cherry blossom spot known only to those in the know. The best time to see the cherry blossoms is from early to mid-May, making it one of the latest places in Japan to enjoy cherry blossom viewing.
In the summer, you can enjoy camping and river fishing. This is a hidden campsite with few visitors, so it is recommended for those who want to have a great time with their friends. There is a kitchen, but please note that the water is not potable. The toilets are pit toilets.
