SPOT
Yushun Sakura Road
More than 1,000 Ezo Yamazakura cherry trees line both sides of the road for about 3 km from the entrance to Yushun-no-sato Park. When in full bloom, a tunnel of cherry blossoms is a veritable feast for the eyes of visitors.
In April 2004, in order to make this row of cherry trees better known to the public, the town asked for a new name for the road, and it was named "Yushun Sakura Road.
The road is usually at its best in early May, and the Urakawa Cherry Blossom Festival is held in conjunction with the festival. During the cherry blossom festival, the road is lit up and visitors can enjoy fantastic nighttime viewing of the cherry blossoms.
