Former Kaitakushi Hakodate Branch Office Books Storehouse
Overview
A red brick archive adjacent to the former branch office building within Motomachi Park.
Built in 1880 (Meiji 13).
Even in the 1907 (Meiji 40) great fire, it was spared from conflagration.
The bricks being used are Mobechi-made, from the vicinity of Hakodate.
Hokkaido Designated Tangible Cultural Property.
