Local History Museum
The museum exhibits daily tools and industrial equipment used in Oshito from the Paleolithic Age to the very recent past.
The collection of materials was started in 1970 by members of the Local History Research Association, with the establishment of a local archive in a section of the Oshito Town Library. The collection of disused farm and mountain tools, mainly donated by local residents, has grown to about 10,000 items in its current collection after 50 years of collecting. Since then, the collection has been gradually expanded.
Please visit the museum to see stone tools from tens of thousands of years ago and other valuable local materials of Okito starting from the Meiji period.
