Historic Site Hokuto Ruins
This site is a duplicate ruins and has a long history from the Paleolithic Age to the Jomon, Sequential Jomon, and Scrub Period. Located at an elevation of 20 m overlooking the Kushiro Marshland, more than 300 pit holes have been found here, including the remains of fires, shell middens, and seeds of cultivated plants, which indicate the lifestyle of the people of that period. Some of the dwellings have been reconstructed, allowing visitors to catch a glimpse of how life was in those days.
