Historic Site Hokuto Ruins
Overview
This archaeological site is a multiple-layered archaeological site, and from the Paleolithic period to the Jomon, Epi-Jomon, and Satsumon periods, a long history is etched. Overlooking the Kushiro Wetland, located at an elevation of 20m, and in total, as many as over 300 pit dwellings are left, and traces of fire of that time, shell mounds, cultivated plant seeds, etc., also aspects of life are discovered. Because several dwellings are restored, also to glimpse the aspects of life of that time.
