Hokuto Historic Site
This site is an overlapping archaeological site, with a long history spanning from the Paleolithic period to the Jomon, Post-Jomon and Satsumon periods. Located at an altitude of 20m overlooking the Kushiro Marshland, there are a total of over 300 pit digs remaining, and traces of life at the time, such as fire pits, shell mounds and seeds of cultivated plants, have been discovered. Some of the dwellings have been restored, so you can get a glimpse of what life was like at the time.
