White Road
The "White Road" located within Soya Hills, is a road that has become made by crushing and spreading the seashells of Wakkanai's specialty product "scallops" over approximately 3 km on the goal side (Soya district side) of the "Soya Hills Footpath Course" (total length approximately 11 km), which is a Wakkanai footpath.
In Heisei 23 (2011), since it was first paved, the contrast of the blue sky and sea, green grasses and flowers, and the white road is splendid, and the scenery, as if it were not Japan, has become a topic, and in recent years, it is a tourist spot in Wakkanai that has been increasing in popularity, starting with SNS.
The wind turbine group extending to 57 units, and in addition to viewing Sakhalin (former Karafuto) in the distance, the scene of Mount Rishiri and Hokkaido Heritage's periglacial landforms spreading 360 degrees, is worth a look. ※General vehicles also pass through, so please be careful when walking. Furthermore, please refrain from parking that would obstruct vehicles, and intrusion into pasture land.
