SPOT
Crab Claw (objet d'art)
It was jointly created by sculptor Mr. Toshi Nagasaki, Mr. Hisao Kuwahara of the Monbetsu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and citizens of Monbetsu in a project called "Drift Ice Art Festival" in 1983 (Showa 58).
It is 12 meters high, 6 meters wide, and weighs 7 tons. It used to be floated on the sea during the drift ice season with the intention of expressing the azure sky and pure white world of Okhotsk in an objet d'art, but now it is displayed on land all the time.
