Hokkaido Prefectural Okhotsk Drift Ice Science Center GIZA
Standing by the Okhotsk Sea, it is a science museum themed on drift ice. The exhibition rooms where you can "see" ・ "touch" ・ "experience" are a selling point, and it has become a facility enjoyable by families. The Severe Cold Experience Room, recreates the world of minus 20 degrees in mid-winter. Real drift ice is exhibited all year round, and you can touch it directly.
The Ice Aquarium created by highly transparent ice, and freezing soap bubble experiences etc. are also popular. In the dome theater that projects powerful images, you can see the four seasons of Okhotsk, such as drift ice. In addition, there are also a Q&A corner, a drift ice observation room, etc. Special exhibitions on various themes are held periodically. Also, this center is designated as "Roadside Station Okhotsk Monbetsu," and facilities such as a coffee shop and a store are also attached.
