Ice Sea Observation Tower Okhotsk Tower

360-degree view of the Okhotsk landscape

The world's first ice sea underwater observation tower towering at the tip of the third breakwater of Monbetsu Port, about 1 km offshore from the coast. It has both tourist facilities and research and observation facilities on the submarine floor to the third floor. It is 38.5 meters above sea level and 7.5 meters below sea level. The third floor observation deck offers a 360-degree view of the sea, the second floor has a 4D theater, and the undersea floor has 11 undersea windows of various sizes and a mini aquarium where visitors can feed sturgeon.

Visitors can observe a variety of marine life not only during the winter ice floes, but also throughout the four seasons. The third breakwater of Monbetsu Port, which serves as a connecting road to the tower, is nicknamed "Clione Promenade" and is also a popular walking point.

A light-up piano is permanently installed on the third floor, allowing anyone to experience piano performance on the sea, a rarity in the world.
