Drift Ice Sightseeing Boat Garinko
"The Sea of Okhotsk, the only place in Japan where drift ice comes"
Monbetsu is a town of drift ice. The "Garinko," a large drill that crushes drift ice, is the most popular sightseeing boat in Monbetsu. The mysterious colors of the broken drift ice and seawater, and the powerful cruise of the broken drift ice floating up from the side of the ship, offer a mysterious and fascinating world that can only be seen and experienced by those who have ridden on the ship.
On January 9, 2021, the new ship "Garinko III IMERU" began operation. The capacity and speed of the "Garinko III IMERU" are significantly higher than those of its predecessor, the "Garinko II," which has been recognized as a Hokkaido Heritage.
We also offer fishing cruises in summer. (Rod rentals, bait, and bubbles to put your catch in are also available.) Please experience dynamic fishing while enjoying the fresh Okhotsk breeze. Various other cruises are also available depending on the season and events.
