Hakodate Orthodox Church
The predecessor of the Hakodate Orthodox Church was the consulate church built by the first Russian consul, Goshkevich. The current church was rebuilt in 1916 (Taisho 5) and has a beautiful exterior with white brick walls finished with plaster and a green copper roof. It is designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan.
