Seoksaki Lamp Tower
"Seoksaki Lamp Tower" was built in 1943 during the Pacific War. It was built in 1943 during the Pacific War. It is one of the five tallest unmanned lighthouses in Japan, standing 30 meters tall with a light output of 70 kw. The lighthouse serves not only as a beacon for vessels navigating the surrounding waters, but is also indispensable to the many fishing boats that use the Rishiri Channel (Sea of Japan) between the Sarobetsu wilderness (Toyotomi Town) and Rishiri Island on the Hokkaido mainland as their fishing grounds. If you look at Rishiri Island at night from the Sarobetsu Plain, located on the opposite shore of the lighthouse, you can see the shining light.
