Esashi Float Hall
"Ubajin Grand Shrine Procession Festival" with the oldest history and tradition in Hokkaido
On August 9, 10, and 11 each year, 13 floats (called "Yama" in Esashi), each decorated with historic dolls and ornaments, parade through the town, fluttering their brocade flags, competing for the prestige of the town, to the accompaniment of festival music.
Two of the 13 floats that have carried on the long history and traditions of the festival are on permanent display at the museum, taking turns each year.
