SPOT
Shokakuin Temple is located near the entrance to Matsunotai Park. The temple was founded about 350 years ago, and the temple was built in 1689 (Genroku 2). After two subsequent fires, the present hall was rebuilt in 1894. There is a memorial to the victims of the Kanpo Tsunami and a memorial to the victims of the Hokkai Kisen Qiong'e Maru in the precincts of the temple.
