Kumanoyu
Kumanoyu is located on the banks of the Rausu River, across Route 334 from the Shiretoko National Park Rausu Onsen Campground.
Surrounded by the virgin forests of the Shiretoko Peninsula, the open-air baths offer a great sense of openness, allowing visitors to enjoy the different seasonal expressions of the Shiretoko forests.
Originally used by local fishermen to relieve their daily fatigue, the baths have become a popular spot that attracts fans of hidden hot springs from all over Japan.
It is managed by local volunteers. Please follow the rules (Ten Articles on Bathing in Kumanoyu) and enjoy this precious hidden hot spring.
