Rausu Intermittent Spring

Of the World Natural Heritage sites in Shiretoko that attract tourists from all over the world, the "Rausu Intermittent Spring" is the one that most people know about.
The geysers blow up to a height of less than 10 meters at intervals of about 40 minutes to 2 hours, and are designated as a natural monument of Hokkaido.

The intervals vary depending on the season and the day, but if you stop by the Shiretoko Rausu Visitor Center before visiting, you will be given an approximate estimate of the time it will blow.
If you are lucky enough to see an eruption, please report it to the Visitor Center for the next time you visit.
