-- First of all, what kind of hotel is Shizunai Eclipse Hotel?

Our hotel is located in the Hidaka region, about a two-hour drive from New Chitose Airport in the town of Shin-Hidaka. In the past, the hotel was operated under the name "Shizunai Wellington Hotel," but it was rebuilt under our management and became the current "Shizunai Eclipse Hotel" in 2013.


We are proud of our breakfast, which features local ingredients from Hidaka and Shizunai, handmade pork miso soup and shakimeshi rice by local people, and shishamo fish from Mukawa!

Yes, it is. Our hotel is operated in Hidaka, a sacred place for horse racing, so we named it "Shizunai Eclipse Hotel" after a British racehorse named Eclipse, who has never lost a race and has won 18 races.

--What is the "Meima Concept Room" project that you have been working on at the Eclipse Hotel in Shizunai?

We started this project in 2016 in order to please all of our guests, including tourists and horse racing fans visiting Hidaka. We have renovated the guest rooms into suites, and with the cooperation of the horse owners and trainers, we have displayed the winning souvenirs and premium goods. In the past, we have done this with the themes of Mesho Samson, Matsurida Gogh, Kitasan Black, and Lord Canaroa.
