Urausu Shrine is a popular shrine for social networking! What is the spectacular view surrounding Urausu Shrine?
Urausu Shrine, located in Urausu Town, is a historic shrine that was completed in 1908. Recently, however, it seems to have become a secretly popular spot among camera hobbyists. We paid a visit to find out what is going on.
Urausu Shrine is located near "Michi no Eki Tsurunuma" (Roadside Station). A large stone torii gate welcomes you.
To get to the shrine grounds, you have to climb the steep stone steps behind the torii gate. It is a bit steep, but when you look back after climbing the steps, you will see Tsurunuma Park spread out below you and enjoy a wonderful view of the park.
However, this is not what photographers are looking for. It is the carpet of ezo-engosaku and katakuris (dogtooth violet) that make this a popular spot for photographers.
While suppressing my desire to take pictures, I first made a visit to the shrine. The settlement of Urausu-cho began in 1892, and the land was reclaimed in 1898, so this shrine has been a part of the history of Urausu-cho.
Now, after visiting the shrine, enjoy the beautiful view of flowers. However, please be careful of the off-limits areas and observe them with good manners!
The bright blue flowers are the ezo-engosaku, which are at their best in April and May. Katakuris bloom downward with reddish-purple petals spreading widely upward. The best time to see them is in April.
Wild animals such as Ezo squirrels and Ezo chipmunks, as well as wild birds such as red-headed woodpeckers and titmice, can be seen here! Many photographers are anxiously awaiting this moment.
Again, the rule of thumb is to use good manners when photographing wild animals. After that, please try to capture your own unique and special moment.
