Hokkaido's early summer is finally here, and colorful flowers are beginning to bloom all at once. The flowers of Okhotsk in the eastern part of Hokkaido will be in full bloom from now on. But where in the world should you go? For those who are wondering where to go, here are some flower viewing spots recommended by local players!
The introduction is by Ms. Ayumi Takai, aka "tikai," a local player from Nakashibetsu who belongs to "mina ikor," a group created to enjoy Hokkaido's climate and nature to the fullest. This time, we asked her to select three of her favorite spots. 1.

Okhotsk Drift Ice Park Lavender Field (Monbetsu City)
This is a rare spot in Hokkaido where you can enjoy lavender while looking out over the ocean. The combination with the blue sea and blue sky on a clear day makes you feel the refreshing Okhotsk summer.

2. "Lily Township Koshimizu Lily Park (Koshimizu Town)" where you can enjoy various kinds of lilies
Although most people have the impression that lilies are white flowers, you can see many different varieties of lilies at Koshimizu Lily Park. Visitors can enjoy a combination of early and late blooming lilies for about a month, making it an easy place to schedule a visit.
Hours: Mid-July, late August to mid-September: 9:00-16:00 / Late July to late August: 9:00-17:00
Admission fee: Adults (junior high school students and older): 500 yen
Admission fee varies depending on the opening period.

3. Omagari Lakeside Park (Abashiri City) is the best place to see sunflowers and cosmos.
Sunflowers bloom from late July and can be enjoyed again at the end of summer around September, when not only sunflowers but also cosmos start blooming.
