The "Kofuku Station" featured in the anime is located in Kofuku-cho, Obihiro City, and was once a station on the Hiroo Line of the former Japanese National Railways, but its role as a station ended when the line was closed in 1987. However, the station gained nationwide popularity when it was featured in an NHK program in 1973, and there were calls from all over the country for the station to be kept alive.
The station was redeveloped as a tourist attraction and made a new start as a happy station that brings happiness to visitors.
