2. Risshozan Park Setana Youth Travel Village (Setana Town)

Perched on a mountain, this spot offers panoramic views of the sea and mountains. It's a popular place to fully experience Setana, where you can buy local ingredients from nearby shops and enjoy the beach during the day. 3. Hokkaido Prefectural Park Funkawan Panorama Park (Yakumo Town)

This recreational facility, directly connected to the Yakumo Parking Area on the Hokkaido Expressway, offers a full day of fun. In addition to the Auto Resort Yakumo (auto campground), the grounds feature an athletic plaza that kids will love, a park golf course, and an indoor play facility. 4. Oshamanbe Park Campground (Oshamanbe Town)

This is a comprehensive park with walking trails, playground equipment, and sports facilities like tennis courts. During the season, it bustles with family campers. In the fresh green of spring, cherry blossoms and azaleas are in full bloom, and in summer, you can enjoy the beautiful water lilies and irises in the pond surrounded by natural stones.

5. Kumaishi Youth Travel Village (Yakumo Town)

This campground is covered in a vast lawn, with well-placed trees providing pleasant shade. Nearby, you'll find the Wanpaku no Mori forest for enjoying a walk, and the Chapu Chapu Park where you can play in the river. Ayukawa Beach is also close, offering opportunities for fishing and swimming, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in nature.

6. Sainokawara Park Campground (Okushiri Town)

This campground is located at the northern tip of Okushiri Island. With no lighting at night, it's a perfect location for stargazing. The site includes a diner and souvenir shop, and you can enjoy swimming, playing in the water, and fishing in the nearby sea.

7. Hakodate Toi Water Park Auto Campground (Hakodate City)

This is the only auto campground in Southern Hokkaido with an on-site hot spring. Here you can connect with abundant nature, foraging for wild vegetables in spring, catching stag beetles in summer, and watching the salmon run in autumn. It's a great place for beginners to easily enjoy the outdoors.

8. Shiraishi Park Hakodate Auto Campground (Hakodate City)

This campground is a 30-minute drive from central Hakodate. It offers a calm environment with cedar forests typical of southern Hokkaido. You can choose from a variety of sites to suit your preference, including auto sites, cottages, and a grassy free site. A full range of rental equipment is also available, making it easy to enjoy camping.

9. Pirika Campground (Imakane Town)

In addition to free camping where you bring your own tent, there are also plans for camping without any gear and glamping, making it perfect for beginners. The accommodation plans include admission to the hot springs. On clear days, you can see the Milky Way regardless of the season.

10. Uzura Dam Auto Campground Hacham no Mori (Assabu Town)

"Uzura Dam Auto Campground Hacham no Mori," located just below the Uzura Dam, is the first auto campground in the Hiyama Subprefecture. Hacham no Mori offers a refreshing encounter between people and nature, and is equipped with the latest facilities to support campers.

11. Kijihiki Highland Campground (Hokuto City)

This campground is located near the summit of Mt. Kijihiki. During the day, you can see Mt. Hakodate, the Tsugaru Strait, Mt. Komagatake, and Onuma, while at night, a star-filled sky unfolds. When conditions are right, you can also witness a magical sea of clouds.

Known as an auto campground full of water and greenery, this park is located near the "Moheji Nature Experience Forest" and "Yunosawa Cold Spring." Every year from mid to late May, double-flowered cherry blossoms bloom, allowing you to enjoy camping under the cherry trees.

13. Pekorera Gakusha (Yakumo Town)

This is a campground and multi-purpose space utilizing a decommissioned elementary school. It's a facility where families can enjoy the nostalgic atmosphere of a school amidst the great outdoors. There are plans for camping even if you don't have your own gear, and you can also enjoy a sauna.

14. Kamiiso Dam Park (Hokuto City)

This campground is located within Kamiiso Dam Park. During the cherry blossom season from early to late May, you can enjoy camping surrounded by cherry blossoms. The park features various types of cherry trees, including Sargent's cherry, Yoshino cherry, Kanzan, Naden, Fugenzo, Ukon, and Ichiyo. The vividly blooming hydrangeas around August are also popular.
