Yakuzen cuisine and a friendly space "Marukuma" opened with themes of herbs, fermentation, and sake
Check out the dishes you are interested in!
The cuisine at Marukuma is based on medicinal herbs. However, they are not sprinkled or kneaded with bitter herbal medicine. The basic idea is to regulate the body from the inside out with the help of healthy seasonal ingredients.
That is why we carefully examine our ingredients and select only those we are satisfied with, and we do not use any food additives in our cooking.
The menu changes daily to match the ingredients purchased. When you place your order, the chef will divide the food into small plates. This interaction is very homey.
On the day of our visit, the menu included a colorful lineup of dishes such as fried potatoes, fried natto, carpaccio, and nagaimono with salted malted rice. Although carefully selected ingredients are used, each dish is priced at around 300 to 500 yen, making it easy on the wallet.
The sake to go with the drinks is selected by Miyamoto Shoten, a long-established sake store in the city. There is also a wide selection of excellent sake from sake breweries around the country. Be careful not to drink too much.
Of course, you can always give yourself a boost for tomorrow with the famous "Seasonal Yakuzen Porridge (600 yen)," a dish that many people come here just for this. The rich flavor of the dashi broth and the power of the ingredients will soak into your five and six internal organs with every bite.
