On September 13, 2023, "sun," which had been operating on a temporary lease in a corner of a building in Obihiro, reopened at the same location, much anticipated. Ai, a café lover, is now the owner of this small café with a comfortable soft atmosphere. The shop's hand-drip coffee and sweets are gaining popularity.

When you open the door, you will see a cute space with original goods and other items.
Originally started as a rented izakaya (Japanese style bar), SUN has gained more and more fans due to its taste and personality. When the original izakaya moved to a new location, they decided to open SUN in this space. The interior was reopened with the walls and shelves decorated in white to make it more like a café.
There are a total of 4 seats at tables for 2 people.
The store is on the second floor of the building. When you open the door, a bell rings and the owner, Ms. Ai, gently welcomes you saying, "Hello! and the owner, Ms. Ai, welcomes you kindly. It is a small store with three seats at the counter and four seats at tables, and both take-out and eat-in are available. Inside the restaurant, you can feel the time passing slowly with the relaxing background music playing. If it is not crowded, remote working and reading are also allowed.

Ai, who has always loved visiting cafes, creates exquisite sweets. The regular menu includes "Classic Pudding" (500 yen), "Basque Cheesecake" (550 yen), and "Chocolate Fudge Brownie" (380 yen), and there are also scones, cookies, and other items that vary each day. It is difficult to narrow down your order to just one because they all look so delicious..!
All are delicious, but the "Chocolate Fudge Brownie" is my favorite! The moist texture of the brownie is filled with crunchy chocolate chips. The slightly salty taste is also appealing. It is perfect with a latte or coffee. If you eat in, you can't go wrong with it served with whipped cream.

There are also days when we collaborate with "oyatsu no jikan," a snack shop that does not have a storefront, and the next dates are scheduled for May 2, 15, and 31. Carrot cake and Victoria cake are very popular, and people sometimes line up from morning.

The coffee served at sun is purchased from two coffee shops. The deep-roasted and medium-roasted coffees are "sun blend," an original blend from "may coffee" in Nakasatsunai. The coffee is a well-balanced blend of beans from Papua New Guinea, Guatemala, and Peru.
Coffee beans are also sold in the store (100g 900yen) and you can brew delicious coffee at home.
For the shallow roast, we use a fruity coffee bean called "Ethiopian Yirgacheffe" from ALCHEMIST COFFEE, a coffee shop in Miyanomori, Sapporo, that roasts its own beans. The roaster/owner and Ai have been friends for a long time, and they have long talked about using the coffee when they open their own store.
Drinks using sun milk can be changed to oats milk for +100 yen.
You can enjoy three kinds of drip coffee, including the shallow roast coffee from "ALCHEMIST COFFEE" and the medium and deep roast from "MAY COFFEE".
Come for the delicious coffee and stay for the sweets. Please stop by "sun" when you come to Obihiro.
