On September 13, 2023, "sun," which had been operating in a rented corner of a building in Obihiro, will reopen in the same location. Cafe lover Ai-san is the owner, and it has become a small cafe with a soft and comfortable atmosphere. The carefully crafted hand-dripped coffee and sweets are gaining popularity.

When you open the door, you'll find a cute space filled with original goods.

Originally, SUN started out renting space from an izakaya, but the taste and personality of the staff gradually gained more and more fans. When the original izakaya moved, they decided to continue as SUN in this location. The interior was decorated to look like a cafe, with white as the base color for the walls and shelves, leading to the reopening.

There are a total of four two-seater tables.

The shop is on the second floor of the building. When you open the door, a bell will ring and the owner, Ai, will kindly greet you, saying, "Hello, are you here?" It's a small shop with three counter seats and four tables, and you can order takeout or eat in. Relaxing background music plays inside the shop, making you feel like time is passing slowly. If it's not crowded, you can work remotely or read a book.

Ai, who originally loved going to cafes, creates sweets with great care, all of which are exquisite. The three regular items on the menu are "Classic Pudding" (500 yen), "Basque Cheesecake" (550 yen), and "Chocolate Fudge Brownie" (380 yen), and there are also different menu items on the day, such as scones and cookies. They all look delicious, so it's hard to narrow down to just one to order...!

All of them are delicious, but the "Chocolate Fudge Brownie" is the best! The moist brownie is filled with crunchy chocolate chips. It also has a slightly salty taste. It goes perfectly with a latte or coffee. If you eat in, it is served with whipped cream, which is irresistible.

There will also be a collaboration with a snack shop called "oyatsu no jikan" that does not have a physical store, and the next days are scheduled for May 2nd, 15th, and 31st. Carrot cake and Victoria cake are very popular, and sometimes people line up from early in the morning.

The coffee served at Sun is sourced from two coffee shops. For the dark and medium roasts, they use the original blend "Sun Blend" from Nakasatsunai's "May Coffee." It is a well-balanced blend based on beans from Papua New Guinea, Guatemala, and Peru.

Coffee beans are also sold in the store (900 yen for 100g) so you can make delicious coffee at home.

The light roast uses fruity Ethiopian Yirgacheffe beans from ALCHEMIST COFFEE, a coffee shop in Miyanomori, Sapporo. The roaster and owner, Ai, is a long-time friend of Ai's, and she had been saying for a long time that she wanted to use their coffee when she opened her own shop.

Drinks that use sun milk can be changed to oat milk for an additional 100 yen

You can enjoy three types of drip coffee: light roast coffee from "ALCHEMIST COFFEE" and medium and dark roast coffee from "may coffee."
