Located near Hongo Dori. Strong impact appearing in a quiet residential area!
As the creator of "soup curry," this restaurant has been featured in a variety of media. Many of you may have seen its name on the "soup curry ingredients" sold in supermarkets and other stores. The main store is located near Nango 7-chome Station on the Tozai Subway Line, which runs along Nango Dori. The shop's flashy exterior marks its appearance in a quiet residential area lined with apartments and other buildings. Inside the store, too, the glittering ethnic interior is eye-catching.
The origin of the "Magic Spice" flavor is "soto ayam," a chicken soup that the owner, Taizan Shimomura, encountered during his travels in Southeast Asia. Impressed by its spicy and simple flavor, he adapted it to the Japanese style. Born into a family of doctors, Mr. Shimomura has always focused on the concept of "food and health" (i.e., "medicine and food are one and the same"). He serves a bowl of soup that is low in oil and salt, and is rich in ingredients.
The most popular dish is "Hokkeido! Plenty of ingredients and a deep, rich flavor make a perfect match!
Hokkeido" is the most popular dish at the main restaurant. In addition to the standard soup curry ingredients such as chicken leg, pumpkin, and carrot, it is filled with a variety of vegetables. In addition, there is a wide variety of corn, beans, and rice flour noodles.
No oil or salt is used in the cooking process. The curry is light, but the richness brought out by the abundant ingredients is irresistible. You will feel the "depth of nostalgia" that is unique to Magic Spice's curry.
You can freely customize the spiciness and toppings! Enjoy your own unique taste!
To order, first choose your curry, then either the basic chicken-based soup or the tomato-based soup. You can choose from seven levels of spiciness, including "Awakening," "Meditation," "Fainting in Agony," and "Nirvana. In addition, you can choose from nearly 50 different toppings. The spiciness is designed to be not only hotter but also "tasty," so many people say, "Even people who don't like spicy food can eat Maji Spa.
Also on the table is "magic vinegar," a unique blend of lemon, lime, vinegar, and other ingredients, which can be added for a refreshing and mellow taste. The addition of "Miracle Spice," a special garam masala, gives the dish a spicier feel, while "Holy Spice," a blend of five different types of chili, makes it even hotter. You can freely customize and enjoy the taste, and the expression of the flavor will change as you eat more and more.
The restaurant is visited by many celebrities, and transmits a wide variety of culture.
On the second floor, there is a corner selling sundries and clothing from Southeast Asia. The items lined up in a seamless arrangement are all purchased locally, so you may be able to find bargains that are hard to find in Japan.
Magic Spice's main feature is that it introduces not only soup curry, but also a wide variety of culture throughout the store. We invite you to experience the culture of "Magic Spice" itself at the restaurant.
