Savor the Rich Flavor of Lean Tankaku Beef at Takahashi Farm's Restaurant & Farm Inn "Maburitto" in Erimo

Located near Cape Erimo, the southernmost tip of the Hidaka Mountains overlooking the Pacific Ocean, is the restaurant and farm inn, "Tankaku Kingdom Maburitto." This establishment is run by Takahashi Farm, which raises Japanese Shorthorn cattle (Tankaku-gyu) with great care, to share the charm of this special beef. Not only can you enjoy a variety of delicious Tankaku beef dishes, but it is also a rare place in Japan where you can learn about this unique cattle breed.

Tankaku beef cattle are characterized by their brown coats and short horns.

The area around the farm and restaurant features a vast pasture where the grass sways in the sea breeze from the Pacific Ocean. Beyond the grazing cattle, you can see the ocean and Cape Erimo. Have you ever tried Tankaku beef? It's incredibly delicious, with a rich umami flavor in its lean meat. The fat is light and clean, yet the overall taste is deep and complex.

Despite its deliciousness, farmers raising Tankaku cattle have become very rare nationwide. However, here at "Tankaku Kingdom Maburitto," you can savor the exquisite taste of this lean beef.

A popular choice at the restaurant "Tankaku Kingdom Maburitto" is the "Tankaku Beef Lunch." The "Tankaku Yokubari Gyudon" (1,280 yen, tax excl.), which lets you enjoy three different cuts of beef, is reasonably priced and a favorite among local regulars. For a more luxurious lunch to enhance your trip, the "Steak Set" (from 2,970 yen, tax excl.), with a choice of fillet, ribeye, or sirloin, is also recommended. A Direct Sales Shop Where You Can Buy Meat and Hamburgers!

The direct sales corner at the entrance of the shop. Of course, you're welcome to just stop by the shop.

At the entrance of "Tankaku Kingdom Maburitto," there's also a direct sales corner for meat. You can purchase Tankaku beef cuts as well as processed products like Tankaku beef hamburgers. My personal recommendation is the "Smoked Liver"! It lacks the distinct odor of liver and has a rich, enchanting flavor. You can slice it and eat it as is, making it a perfect appetizer for drinks at a home party. It's said to be a popular item with many repeat customers.
