This event allows you to witness the first sunrise of the year from the summit of Mt. Moiwa, a popular night view spot in Sapporo. The ropeway will operate specially from 5:00 AM on New Year's Day, offering a view at a time not usually accessible. The transition from the jewel-like nightscape of Sapporo's skyscrapers to the stunning sunrise is a sight to behold.

New Year's Fun at ES CON FIELD: "ES CON FIELD Shrine & Waku Waku Railway Expo 2025" (Kitahiroshima)

At the "ES CON FIELD Shrine," held from January 1st, a shrine will appear on the field of ES CON FIELD HOKKAIDO. You can offer prayers on the field, an area normally only accessible through stadium tours. Lion dance performances and traditional Japanese instrument performances are also scheduled.

Additionally, the "Waku Waku Railway Expo 2025" will be held simultaneously. It will feature a 24-meter-long Doctor Yellow inflatable play structure and a giant diorama of toy trains. You can also experience driving an N-gauge train simulator. It's perfect for a New Year's outing and creating winter vacation memories.

Enjoy a Hokkaido Winter in a Kamakura: "Warm Winter Experience - Kamakura & Hot Pot in Yakumo, Hokkaido" (Yakumo)

An event to warm up with a kamakura (snow hut) and hot pot will be held at Pecorera Gakusha in Yakumo Town. Spend half a day building a "giant, giant kamakura" with other participants, and then enjoy a "warm hot pot" full of local ingredients inside. It's a great way to enjoy Hokkaido's winter and snow with friends and family.

A Must-See for Fans: "Winter 2025 Suiyo Dodesho House Public Opening" (Akabira)

"Suiyo Dodesho" (How Do You Like Wednesday?) is a legendary variety show from Hokkaido with a massive nationwide following. The "Lakeside Resort Suiyo Dodesho House," built as part of a show project, will be open to the public. Akabira resident Takayuki Suzui, known as "Mister," and the show's famous directors Tadahisa Fujimura and Masamichi Ureshino are scheduled to appear. There will also be souvenir giveaways, making this a must-see event for devoted fans of the show.

Winter fireworks will be launched at Kitayuzawa Onsen, a hot spring resort about a two-hour drive from Sapporo. After relaxing in the hot springs, enjoy the fireworks, which are especially beautiful in the crisp, cold winter air.

This event celebrates the unique wild birds of the Nemuro and Eastern Hokkaido region in winter. Various activities will be held across Nemuro City, including "Guided Tours" where you can enjoy birdwatching with local expert guides, and exhibitions of bird-themed illustrations and works by bird field guide artist Takashi Taniguchi. An Orchestra for All Ages: "Orchestra from Age 0 / My First Orchestra" (Nakasatsunai)

This is an orchestra performance where you don't have to worry about bringing small children—crying and fussing are welcome! The event is held in two parts: a program for ages 0 and up, and another for toddlers and older. In addition to listening to a professional performance, you can play with toy instruments and even try playing the violin.
