One of Obihiro's Best Bistros, Where You'll Be "as Full as a Barrel"
Owner-chef Takeshi Komatsu
The name "Barrique" refers to the small oak barrels used for aging wine. Owner-chef Komatsu named his restaurant with the hope that "customers will leave feeling as full and satisfied as a barrel." This sentiment is reflected in the food, with every dish being incredibly generous in portion size. For dinner, visiting with a group of about four people would be ideal for sharing and trying various dishes.◎
The stylish interior, which the owner renovated himself
Owner-chef Takeshi Komatsu is from Tokyo. A part-time job at a restaurant sparked his interest in the food industry. At 27, he began working at "Le Bistro" in Ebisu, Tokyo, where he found a restaurant and a chef he deeply respected, inspiring him to become a professional cook. Building on his experience at "Le Bistro," he gradually developed his own bistro style by reading books and dining at other establishments. Here, you can experience the enjoyable, casual nature of a "bistro," which is different from a formal French course meal.

Course Lunches Popular for Their Gorgeous Assorted Appetizers
"Coarsely Ground Sausage" 1,200 yen
While walk-ins are welcome for both lunch and dinner, reservations by phone or direct message are recommended as the restaurant has only 10 seats and is run by the chef alone. The bistro is perfect for various occasions, from a solo lunch to celebrating birthdays and anniversaries with your spouse or family.
For lunch, there are two courses with a choice of main dish. One is "Lunch A" for 1,800 yen, which comes with a smaller selection of appetizers. The other is "Lunch B" for 2,300 yen, featuring a gorgeous assorted appetizer platter. "Lunch B" is highly recommended as it includes all the appetizers, but for those with a smaller appetite, "Lunch A" is suggested due to the large portion sizes.
The "Assorted Appetizers" from the à la carte menu. The lunch platter is half this size.
For the main dish in both lunch courses, you can choose from four options: "Roasted Beef Rump," "Pan-seared Sea Bream," "Duck-stuffed Cabbage Roll," or "Tripe Stewed in Tomato Sauce." Having to choose from four tempting options is quite a wonderful dilemma for lunchtime!
