If you missed the autumn leaves this year, or if the season for autumn leaves in your town has ended, we have good news for you! Here are some events where you can still enjoy the autumn leaves even more.
Hakodate City "Hakodate MOMI-G Festa"

The Hakodate MOMI-G Festa is a light-up event held at Kosetsuen (within Miharashi Park), Hakodate's most famous spot for viewing autumn leaves. Approximately 150 types of trees are planted on the vast grounds, and you can enjoy mountain maples, Japanese maples, and other trees. The approximately 100-meter-long maple tree-line is lit up every day, creating a fantastic atmosphere around the area.

Along the way, there are plenty of things to see besides the autumn leaves, such as a precious brick greenhouse and a teahouse built in the style of a shoin tea ceremony. You can also tour the inside of the teahouse, so you can enjoy the autumn leaves from inside.

*The pavilion can be visited from 9:00 to 17:00.

Hokuto City “Hokuto Autumn Leaves Corridor”

At the Hokuto Autumn Leaves Corridor, the illuminated autumn leaves are reflected on the surface of the pond like a mirror, creating a fantastical sight. The venue, Hachironuma Park, is a vast 11-hectare site with about 2,000 trees, including maples, azaleas, and cherry blossoms, and the leaves change color every year from mid-October to early November.

The maples and other broadleaf trees around the swamp are beautiful during the day, but the illuminated landscaping at night also creates a romantic and fantastical atmosphere. From Friday to Sunday and on public holidays, there are also food stalls where you can enjoy delicious Hokuto City cuisine while admiring the autumn leaves.

Biei Town "Let's take a refreshing walk! Biei Patchwork Hill Walk (Takushinkan Course)"

"Let's take a refreshing walk! Biei Patchwork Hill Walk" is a mini walking tour where you take a slow, deep breath and walk around Patchwork Hill. A local guide will lead the way, so even those who are unsure of where to walk can enjoy the colorful hill scenery with peace of mind.

You can enjoy taking photos while taking in the spectacular views of the Tokachi Mountain Range and the vast pastures. It's nice to tour the patchwork hills by car, but it's also fascinating to take a leisurely stroll and discover little things while looking at the scenery.
Hokkaido is dotted with numerous spots where you can enjoy not only autumn foliage, but also activities, gourmet food, hot springs, and more, all in one place, all while doing some sightseeing.
