Sapporo Moiwa Ski Resort
A ski resort about 20 minutes by car from downtown Sapporo. Enjoy skiing to your heart's content on a ski slope!
This ski resort spreads out on the slopes of Mt. Moiwa, which is 531 meters above sea level. It is easily accessible, about 20 minutes by car from the center of Sapporo, and has been popular with Sapporo residents since it began operations in 1960. Tourists staying in Sapporo can also enjoy a quick ski trip there on their way back to the airport.
This is a rare ski slope in Hokkaido where snowboarding is completely prohibited. There are 10 different courses, satisfying everyone from beginners to advanced skiers. The one you should definitely try is the beginner-friendly "Tourist Road Course (2.6 km)," where you can enjoy the feeling of trekking on the snow while looking down at the city of Sapporo.
Nakayoshi Square is located next to the North Slope Ski Lodge. You can sleigh and play in the snow. Beginners and children can also practice skiing here. Right next to it is the spacious, gentle Family Slope, a popular area for parent-child skiers.
