SPOT
Asahiyama Memorial Park
A fantastic night view unfolds before your eyes. A viewpoint overlooking the city of Sapporo
This park opened in 1970 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the founding of Sapporo City. From the observation deck located at an altitude of 137.5m, you can get a panoramic view of the Ishikari Plain, the Sea of Japan, and Sapporo city. At night, the illuminated fountain and the lights of the office buildings in central Sapporo beyond it create a particularly fantastical sight, making it a very popular spot for couples to enjoy a romantic night view.
The park has walking paths, a rest house, a suspension bridge, a playground, and a children's playground, so you can enjoy nature walks during the day, as well as a variety of play equipment for small children to enjoy. It is about a 15-minute drive from the center of Sapporo, up a steep slope, so we recommend traveling by car, such as by bus or taxi.
