SPOT
Horomi Pass (Horomi Pass Lavender Garden / Horomi Pass Observation Parking Lot)
Horomi Pass, as its name suggests, is a famous tourist spot known for its summer lavender garden that offers a panoramic view of Sapporo.
From April to November each year, the Horomi Pass Observation Parking Lot is open, allowing visitors to leisurely enjoy views of central Sapporo and the Ishikari mountain range from their cars. As it is also popular as a night view spot, it is a place to enjoy along with other Sapporo city night view spots such as Mt. Moiwa and Asahiyama Memorial Park.
At the summit, there is also a lavender garden that spreads out like a vibrant purple carpet. The 120 lavender plants planted in 1987 have now grown to about 8,000. The lavender field, which fills the entire view and is open for a limited time from early to late July each year, is truly worth seeing.
