SPOT
Horomi Pass (Horomi Pass Lavender Garden / Horomi Pass Observation Parking Lot)
Horomi Pass, as its name suggests, is a famous tourist spot with a summer lavender garden where Sapporo can be viewed entirely. Every year from April to November, the Horomi Pass Observation Parking Lot is open, and from inside the car, you can leisurely enjoy the view of Sapporo city center and the Ishikari mountain range. Because it is also popular as a night view spot, it is a place one would want to enjoy in conjunction with other Sapporo city night view spots such as Mt. Moiwa and Asahiyama Memorial Park.
At the summit, there is also a lavender garden where a vivid purple-colored carpet spreads. The 120 lavender plants planted in 1987 have now become approximately 8,000 plants. The lavender field spreading to fill the view is sufficiently impressive.
