SPOT
Horomi Toge (Yume Koubou Satou)
Lavender and night view overlooking Sapporo city
As its name suggests, Horomi Toge is a sightseeing spot that offers a panoramic view of Sapporo.
The Horomi Pass Observation Parking Lot is open from April to November every year, and visitors can enjoy the view of central Sapporo and the Ishikari Mountains from the comfort of a car. The area is also popular as a night view spot, and should be enjoyed in combination with other night view spots of Sapporo such as Mt.
At the top of the park is the lavender garden of Yume Koubou Satou, which is covered with a carpet of bright purple lavender. 120 lavender plants were planted when the park opened in 1988, and now there are approximately 7,000 plants. The lavender fields that fill the entire field of view are a sight to behold.
