SPOT
Horomitoge Pass (Horomitoge Lavender Garden / Horomitoge Observation Parking Lot)
A spot where you can enjoy lavender and the night view, overlooking Sapporo city
As its name suggests, Horomi Pass is a tourist attraction famous for its summer lavender fields that offer a panoramic view of Sapporo. The Horomi Pass Observation Parking Lot is open from April to November every year, and you can enjoy the view of central Sapporo and the Ishikari mountain range from the comfort of your car. It is also popular as a night view spot, so you'll want to combine it with other night view spots in Sapporo, such as Mt. Moiwa and Asahiyama Memorial Park.
At the top of the mountain, there is a lavender garden with a vibrant purple carpet. Planted in 1987, 120 lavender plants have now grown to approximately 8,000. The lavender fields that stretch as far as the eye can see are well worth seeing.
