SPOT
Higashi Mokoto Shibazakura Park
A spectacular view like a pink velvet carpet
About 8 km from downtown Higashi Mokoto in the direction of Mt. Higashimokoto Shiba-zakura Park is a small hillside that turns bright pink in spring. The best time to visit is from mid-May to early June. When the flowers are in full bloom, the 100,000-square-meter slope is as beautifully decorated as if it were covered with a velvet carpet. The "Higashi-mojikoto Shiba-zakura Festival" is held every year from May 3 to late May, and other events are also held here.
In addition, there are go-carts with a lap length of 820 meters, log playground equipment, a fishing pond with rainbow trout, and a campground equipped with unique-looking bungalows, making it a spot for family fun. Pets are not allowed in the park.
