SPOT
It is a prison of the Ministry of Justice's jurisdiction, not a tourist facility.
In Meiji 23rd year (1890), it was established as the Abashiri Convict Labor Camp of the Kushiro Prison Office.
The image, "When you say Abashiri, it's a prison," can be said to be a thing made by the movie "Abashiri Outlaw Series" starring Ken Takakura.
Naturally, tours of the interior cannot be done.
Separately from "Abashiri Prison," a museum called "Abashiri Prison Museum" exists in a distant place.
