Saroma Lakeside Trail (currently closed to traffic)
This is a 5-kilometer one-way lakeside trail that runs along Route 238 between Tomibushi and Naniwa. The trail winds through a virgin forest composed of various species of trees, such as the oba-bodaiju and katsura. The glimpses of Lake Saroma peeking out from between the trees are beautiful, and visitors can step off the trail onto the shore of the lake. The mostly flat path is lined with colorful wildflowers and berries, and small animals such as the occasional fox can be seen. Bridges and stairs are provided at the steep parts of the trail, making it safe for children and the elderly.
On the way, there are two paths that connect to the Horoiwa Mountain Trail. There are three pavilions for rest and two restrooms, and parking is available on the Naniwa side.
