SPOT
Lake Saroma Seal Tourist Boat
The only sightseeing boat on Lake Saroma, the "Sealer-go"
The "Sealer-go" offers three courses: "Round Trip Course", "Sakaeura Course", and "Wakka Course".
The round-the-lake course is recommended for those who want to enjoy Lake Saroma to the fullest. It takes 1 hour and 40 minutes to visit spectacular spots, such as the area near the mouth of Lake No. 1 where the world's first ice-breaking ice boom is located, Wakka Wild Flower Garden where more than 300 kinds of flowers and grasses, including Japanese rose, grow wild, and Cape Kimuaneppu where bright red coral grass colonies spread in the fall.
The Sakaeura Course is a 1-hour cruise in the direction of Tokoro-cho, Kitami City. The Tokoro Ruins Forest, where deciduous broadleaf forests such as oak and kashiwa spread, and the Wakka Forest, where mizunara oak and yachidamo (Japanese ash) are planted, can be seen.
The Wakka course cruises in the direction of Yubetsu Town. The Saginuma Wild Flower Garden with its iris colony and other plants, Ryugudai, where you can see the border between the Sea of Okhotsk and Lake Saroma, and other spots that are the pride of Lake Saroma are impressive.
Visitors can enjoy the charming scenery up close while feeling the breeze.
