I am sure that many of you have seen the exterior of the clock tower, which was called "surprisingly small" in the anime, on TV. The red roof is cute and impressive, isn't it?
As the title suggests, did you know that it was actually not a "clock tower" when it was first completed in 1878? It was originally used as a "demonstration hall" for the Sapporo Agricultural College, the predecessor of Hokkaido University, as an indoor gymnasium for military training and entrance and graduation ceremonies. The school was used as an indoor gymnasium for military training and entrance and graduation ceremonies. The clock tower is located on the second floor of the school's main building. On the second floor of the clock tower, there is a place where visitors can take a photo with Dr. Clark.
A space that recreates the period is spread out on the second floor. Sitting on the chaise longue, you may feel like you are back in time to the Meiji Era!
