Hokkaido, which boasts of its vast natural beauty, presents a dynamic landscape during the autumn foliage season, when mountains and trees turn red and yellow. 1 " The 13th Hokkaido University Golden Leaves Festival" (Sapporo), a fantastic lighting up of ginkgo trees at Hokkaido University (Sapporo)
One of Sapporo's tourist attractions, Hokkaido University's ginkgo trees are fantastically lit up for two days only. Now in its 13th year, it has become an annual autumn event that attracts many visitors every year. In addition to the glittering incandescent lights, the ginkgo trees are illuminated in full color, creating a fantastic sight.

2 Enjoy the superb autumn foliage spots in Jozankei "Jozankei Five Great Autumn Foliage Spots by Bus" (Sapporo)
Buses run to the five major autumn foliage areas in Jozankei, one of the representative autumn foliage spots in Sapporo. At each of the five major autumn foliage viewing spots, visitors can fully enjoy the autumn foliage in different situations and activities. Guided tour buses are also available, so even first-time visitors to Jozankei can enjoy the area with peace of mind.

3 "Miracle Illuminate 7" (KAMIKAWA Town): Autumn leaves and digital art in the hot spring resort area at night
A popular illumination event held at the foot of Daisetsuzan (Mt. Daisetsuzan), where the autumn foliage is the earliest in Japan. Sounkyo Onsen, the brilliant autumn leaves in the Autumn Foliage Valley are colored even more beautifully and fantastically. In addition to the illumination of the brilliant red and yellow autumn leaves, visitors can also enjoy digital artwork that is linked to human movement.

4 "Nakajima Park Autumn Foliage Light-up Event" lights up the ginkgo trees and Japanese garden in Nakajima Park (Sapporo)
Four locations in Nakajima Park, including the ginkgo-lined avenue and the Japanese garden, are fantastically lit up. In addition, there will be Geiko performances by the Sapporo Meiko-ren, matcha (powdered green powdered tea) experiences, sales of oshiruko (sweet red-bean soup), and kitchen car stalls.

5 The autumn leaves viewed from the gondola are also spectacular "Jozankei Kogen Sapporo International Ski Resort Autumn Festival - Autumn Leaves Gondola and Autumn Taste Festival" (Sapporo)
The Sapporo Kokusai Ski Resort Autumn Festival is held at the Sapporo Kokusai Ski Resort, one of the five best places to view the autumn leaves in Jozankei. The gondola used for winter skiing will be used as the "Autumn Leaves Gondola" and take you to the top of the mountain where you can enjoy a spectacular view of Ishikari Bay and Otaru Port. The view from the top of the mountain as well as from the gondola is not to be missed. The "Autumn Taste Festival" is also held on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays with gourmet food stalls and kitchen cars.

6 "Hakodate MOMI-G Festa" creates a fantastic atmosphere at Hakodate's autumn foliage spots.
The lights up at Kosetsuen in Miharu Park, Hakodate's most popular autumn foliage viewing spot. The 100-meter-long maple tree-lined avenue and other trees are lit up every day, creating a fantastic atmosphere around the park. The vast site is planted with about 150 kinds of trees, and visitors can enjoy the autumn colors of Japanese maples and yellow maples.

7 "Hokuto Autumn Leaves Corridor 2024" (Hokuto City), a superb view of illuminated autumn leaves reflected on the surface of water.
Hachironuma Park, with approximately 2,000 maple, azalea, cherry, and other trees on a vast 11-hectare site, will be illuminated. Visitors can enjoy the fantastic sight of the autumn leaves reflected on the surface of the water of Hachironuma like a mirror. The park is beautiful during the day when the leaves are changing colors, but the illuminated night view is also a must-see.

8 Relax in a hot spring after fall foliage viewing "The 53rd Kami Furano Tokachidake Autumn Foliage Festival" (Kamifurano Town)
The autumn leaves of the Tokachidake mountain range are at their best early in Hokkaido. At the festival site, you can enjoy such autumn foliage together with gourmet foods, a raffle and other events. There is also a stamp rally at three hot springs located between the festival site and JR Kamifurano Station.

9 Enjoy autumn leaves and local agricultural and livestock products "Iwanai Senkyo Momiji Festival" (Kamikawa Town)
An event where visitors can enjoy the autumn leaves of Obihiro in a delicious and fun way. The Iwanai Senkyo Gorge, one of the best places in Obihiro to view the autumn leaves, will be the venue for an autumn taste corner where you can taste local agricultural and livestock products and gourmet foods, and fresh agricultural products will be on sale. Unique and very popular vegetable-related events such as a vegetable weight-guessing quiz and a big mountain bingo tournament are also planned.

10 Let's climb Mt. Megumi in red and orange colors "Mt. Megumi Autumn Foliage Climbing Party" (Hakodate City)
This is a mountain climbing event that takes visitors to the cape observatory and autumnal foliage viewing points on Mt. The azaleas in autumn color the entire plateau with red and orange leaves, welcoming climbers. Even beginners can enjoy climbing Mt.
