One of Sapporo's tourist attractions, the ginkgo tree-lined street at Hokkaido University is fantastically lit up for just two days. This year marks the 13th time it has been held, and it has become an annual autumn event that draws many people every year. In addition to the glittering incandescent lights, the ginkgo trees are lit up in full color, creating a fantastical effect.

Enjoy the spectacular autumn foliage spots of Jozankei "Jozankei Five Great Autumn Foliage Spots by Bus" (Sapporo City)
Buses run to the five major autumn foliage areas of Jozankei, one of Sapporo's most famous spots for viewing autumn leaves. At each of these locations, which have been selected as scenic autumn foliage spots, you can enjoy the foliage to the fullest in different situations and with different activities. There are also guided tour buses, so even first-time visitors to Jozankei can enjoy themselves with peace of mind.

Autumn leaves at night in the hot spring town and digital art "Miracle Illumination 7" (Kamikawa Town)
This popular light-up event is held at the foot of Mount Daisetsu, which has the earliest autumn foliage in Japan. It makes the vibrant autumn foliage of Momijidani in Sounkyo Onsen even more beautiful and fantastical. In addition to lighting up the leaves in vibrant red and yellow, you can also enjoy digital art that is linked to people's movements.

Nakajima Park's ginkgo trees and Japanese gardens are lit up at the "Nakajima Park Autumn Leaves Illumination Event" (Sapporo City)
Four areas in the park, including the ginkgo tree-lined street and the Japanese garden in Nakajima Park, will be lit up in a fantastical way. In addition, there will be a geisha performance by the Sapporo Meiko Ren, a matcha experience, sweet bean soup sales, and food truck stalls.

The view of autumn leaves from the gondola is also spectacular "Jozankei Highlands Sapporo Kokusai Ski Resort Autumn Festival ~ Autumn Leaves Gondola and Autumn Taste Festival ~" (Sapporo City)
This autumn festival is held at Sapporo Kokusai Ski Resort, one of the top five autumn foliage viewing spots in Jozankei. The gondolas used for winter skiing are transformed into "Autumn Foliage Gondolas" and transport you to the top of the mountain, where you can enjoy a spectacular view of Ishikari Bay and Otaru Port. Don't miss the view from the gondola, as well as the view from the top of the mountain. In addition, the "Autumn Taste Festival" is held on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, where gourmet food stalls and food trucks are set up.

Hakodate's famous autumn foliage spot takes on a fantastic atmosphere at the "Hakodate MOMI-G Festa" (Hakodate City)
Hakodate's best spot for viewing autumn leaves is the Kosetsuen Garden in Miharashi Park, where the illuminations take place. The 100-meter-long row of maples is lit up every day, creating a fantastic atmosphere. The vast grounds are home to around 150 different kinds of trees, and you can enjoy the autumn colors of mountain maples and Japanese maples.

Hachironuma Park, which is home to around 2,000 trees, including maples, azaleas, and cherry trees, spread across a vast 11-hectare site, will be lit up. The illuminated autumn leaves are reflected on the surface of Hachironuma Lake like a mirror, creating a fantastical sight. The autumn leaves of the trees in the park are beautiful during the day, but the illuminated scenery at night is also a must-see.

Relax in a hot spring after viewing the autumn leaves at the 53rd Kamifurano Tokachidake Autumn Foliage Festival (Kamifurano Town)
The Tokachi mountain range is the first in Hokkaido to see the autumn leaves. At the festival, you can enjoy the autumn leaves along with other events such as gourmet food and raffles. There is also a stamp rally at the three hot springs between the festival venue and JR Kamifurano Station, and gifts are available on a first-come, first-served basis at each of the hot springs.

Enjoy autumn leaves and local agricultural and livestock products at the Iwanai Senkyo Momiji Festival (Kamikawa Town)
This is an event where you can enjoy the delicious and fun autumn leaves of Obihiro. The event will be held at Iwanai Senkyo, one of the most famous autumn foliage spots in Obihiro City, and will feature an autumn taste corner where you can taste local agricultural and livestock products and gourmet food, as well as sales of fresh agricultural products. In addition, there are also popular unique vegetable-related events planned, such as a vegetable weight guessing quiz and a mountain delicacy bingo tournament.

Climb Mount Esan, dyed red and orange, with the "Esan Autumn Leaves Climbing Club" (Hakodate City)
This hiking club visits the Cape Observatory of Esan, famous for the 600,000 azaleas planted at the foot of the mountain, and other autumn foliage viewing spots. In autumn, the azaleas paint the entire plateau red and orange, welcoming hikers. Even beginners can easily climb Esan, so you can enjoy hiking with peace of mind.
