A summer tradition in Kitami, the "Kitami Bonchi Festival" features a dance parade, a giant tug-of-war, and a Samba Kitami Bayashi Children's Carnival. The festival concludes with fireworks launched from the Koizumi riverbed, painting the night sky with vibrant colors and providing a moving finale. As a grand finale, a fireworks display launches about 2,500 fireworks from the slopes of the Hidaka Kokusai Ski Resort, beautifully illuminating the summer night and the lingering festival atmosphere.

"Kuki" refers to the massive schools of herring that swarm to the coast to spawn. This festival is held to commemorate the old days when the village prospered from herring fishing. There are food corners where you can enjoy local seafood, and hands-on events like an "all-you-can-catch sea urchin and scallop" activity. The fireworks, viewed with Benten Island floating on the coast, are truly spectacular.

The "Niko Niko Summer Festival" is a two-day event where you can fully enjoy summer in Niseko, buzzing with music, international cuisine, and nightly fireworks. Held amidst vast nature, this event is packed with activities for families, friends, and couples. The festival concludes on the second day with a fireworks display that lights up the night sky.

The "Sarufutsu Tourism Festival," a major village event that livens up summer in Sarufutsu, is packed with fun activities like a beer garden, a fish-catching game, and musical performances. A fireworks display is held on the night of the first day, the eve of the festival, beautifully coloring the night sky over the northern beach. The direct sale of fresh seafood, including famous local scallops and horsehair crabs, is also very popular.

Started to commemorate the establishment of "Marine Day," the Hakodate Port Fireworks Display is now considered one of Hakodate's "three great fireworks displays" and is a popular event that heralds the arrival of summer. This year's theme is "Summer Night Rock Cafe." The event will liven up Hakodate Port with creative fireworks, music, talk shows, and various other performances.

A regular summer event in Makubetsu that the whole family can enjoy. There are attractions, games for children, and stalls selling local gourmet food, as well as a lottery with luxurious prizes. At night, about 3,000 fireworks are launched, brilliantly coloring the summer night sky.

This is a community-driven event that enlivens summer in Abashiri, featuring the "Ryuhyo Odori" (Drift Ice Dance) where about 1,000 dancers participate in a pedestrian-only central shopping district, and a music parade. The finale is a spectacular fireworks display launched over the Abashiri River. About 12,000 fireworks, including 2-shaku (24-inch) shells, will brilliantly color the night sky and the Sea of Okhotsk.

A popular fireworks display among Sapporo citizens, this event is a classic sign of summer in the city. The fireworks launched from the Toyohira River are divided into three parts, each offering a different atmosphere. About 4,000 fireworks, including starmines and elaborate creative fireworks, will light up the night sky.

The Otaru Ushio Festival, representing summer in Otaru, began as an occasion to pass on Otaru's history and culture to the next generation and to pray for the city's development. The city center bustles with the "Ushio Furekomi" (dance parade) and food stalls, and the main grand fireworks display captivates many citizens and tourists.

The historic "Muroran Port Festival" is Muroran's largest summer event, with the entire city joining in the excitement. The energy reaches its peak with the "Muroran Nerikomi," where magnificent mikoshi (portable shrines) are paraded, the "Shimin Odori" (Citizens' Dance) with 1,000 participants, and the finale, "Yosakoi Soran in Muroran." A Noryo (cool evening) fireworks display is also held, beautifully coloring the summer night sky and the port.

A long-standing summer tradition in Mombetsu, the "Mombetsu Port Festival" is a vibrant event with rows of stalls and stage performances around the former station front street. The highlight is the "Okhotsk Fireworks Festival." About 7,000 fireworks launched from Mombetsu Port dynamically color the sea and sky.

A festival where you can enjoy flowers, food, and fireworks. On the 26th, the final day of the month-long "Iwamizawa Saika Festival," about 5,500 fireworks will be launched at Hokkaido Greenland. The amusement park is open during the day, so families and couples can enjoy the park before watching the fireworks.

Colorful flames dye the night sky, and the fireworks reflect brilliantly on the mirror-like black surface of the sea, vividly coloring the summer night. As a fireworks display in a coastal town, it's also recommended to enjoy it along with swimming or camping.

A summer festival packed with events for the whole family, including Bon dancing, stage shows, and a lottery. The venue will be lined with food stalls and kitchen cars, and this year, the "Love ♥ Fukagawa Stamp Rally" will be held simultaneously, encouraging visits to local shops. At night, one of Hokkaido's premier fireworks displays, presented in three parts, will take place.

A classic summer event in Chitose, the "Chitose Citizen's Fireworks Display" is scheduled to launch about 2,800 fireworks in a four-part program centered around starmines.

The main festival the next day features taiko drum performances, talk shows, live performances by local idols, and a lottery where you can win 100kg of "Rankoshi Mai" rice.

Hokuto City's largest summer event. It features food stalls with Hokuto's prized cuisine, family-friendly stage events and shows, and a float parade. At night, a fireworks display is held at Maehama Beach, vividly coloring the summer night sky of Hokuto.

The "Asahikawa Summer Festival" livens up summer in Asahikawa with a perfect trio of fireworks, dancing, and food over three days. Highlights are plentiful, including the "Doshin Noryo Fireworks Display" where about 4,000 fireworks light up the night sky, a dance parade with 2,000 citizens, and the "Rekka Tanabata Festival" featuring a powerful mikoshi procession and a parade of floats and dance teams. There are also food stalls and a disco night, attracting many people from both within and outside Hokkaido every year.

The "Hakodate Port Festival," representing summer in Hakodate, is the city's largest festival, bringing excitement to the entire area. On the first day, a five-part program of fireworks is launched from Midori no Shima, featuring wide starmines, powerful shaku-dama shells, set-piece fireworks, and underwater fireworks, all synchronized to music. On the second and third days, the "Wasshoi Hakodate" parade dances through the city, and anyone can join the famous "Ika Odori" (Squid Dance) on the spot. It's an event that can be enjoyed by locals and tourists alike.

A large-scale festival held every summer in Tomakomai. The city comes alive with stage events, a citizens' dance parade through the city center, and a marching festival. The "Tomamin Tomakomai Centennial Fireworks," which adds to the excitement of the port festival, is held in the fishing port area, and the fireworks launched against the backdrop of the jet-black sea are breathtakingly beautiful.

A fireworks display held at a Sapporo ski resort. During the day, enjoy kitchen cars, festival stalls, street performances, and a music festival, followed by a grand fireworks display at night. Other attractions include YOSAKOI Soran dance performances, taiko drumming, food stalls, a sea breeze sauna fest, and events for children, making this Tokachi summer festival perfect for an outing with family or your partner.

A major event held in Ashibetsu, known as the "Village of Falling Stars," where you can enjoy stage performances and gourmet food. The approximately 5,000 fireworks launched for the festival's finale are synchronized with laser beams and music. The festival's excitement, living up to its name 'Doto' (raging waves), and the fireworks display passionately liven up the summer in Iwanai Town.

A summer festival where you can enjoy events unique to the lakeside. The water fireworks display on the first day, with colorful fireworks launched over the lake, and the heated dragon boat competition on the second day are must-sees. With bouncy castles, live music, Yosakoi performances, and candy scrambles, it's also a great choice for a weekend outing.

A major event that colors the short summer of Japan's northernmost city. Events include two dances representing Wakkanai, the 'Hokkai Teppen Odori' and the 'Nankyoku Odori,' as well as boat races. The festival concludes with 2,500 fireworks launched from the sea.

There are plenty of events for the whole family to enjoy, including food stalls selling scallops and beef, a sales corner for specialty products, the ever-popular giant hot pot, festival games for kids, sports chanbara (sword fighting), and a treasure hunt. A fireworks display is also held on the night of the first day, brilliantly kicking off the festival.

A traditional event that colors the summer in Samani Town, recreating a legend passed down on Mt. Apoi. There are plenty of activities, including Apoi Taiko drumming performances, singing stages, festival game events for kids, and a spectacular fireworks display. The climax features giant flaming characters, creating a powerful spectacle.

A summer festival in Otofuke Town where you can enjoy food stalls, festival games, and various stage performances like dancing and taiko drumming. There are plenty of events for all ages, including the popular amateur singing contest and a candy scramble. And at night, about 1,000 fireworks are launched, which can be seen up close with an impressive impact unique to the flat terrain.

The venue, Misakidai Park, is a tourist spot in Shosanbetsu with vast grounds where you can also camp. The fireworks enjoyed at this scenic spot, with views of Rishiri, Teuri, and Yagishiri islands on the horizon, are exceptional. Hands-on games, a lottery, and singing concerts are also planned.

A summer festival that gets the entire town of Nakatonbetsu excited. In addition to the "Furusato Ondo Odori" dance, in which many townspeople participate, stage events, and food stalls lining the venue, a marathon and an inter-town sports festival are also held on the same day. The concluding fireworks display brings the excitement to a peak.

A festival that began with handheld fireworks, born from the desire to "create summer memories for children," it has now grown into a summer event in Niseko Town where about 1,500 fireworks are launched. There is also a time for children to enjoy handheld fireworks, making it a fireworks festival for all ages that retains the unique charm of a small hometown.

The "Otaru Takashima Fireworks" will be held for the first time this year. Five years after the "Takashima Fishing Port Summer Evening Fireworks Festival" that once colored the summers of Takashima in Otaru City, a new fireworks display will be held, led by people connected to Takashima, in response to calls to "see fireworks in Takashima again." About 4,000 fireworks are planned, including underwater fireworks, memorial fireworks, and fireworks dedicated to prayers for a big catch.

The "Rekifune River Clear Stream Festival," a summer tradition in Taiki Town, is held along the Rekifune River, once rated "Japan's cleanest river" by the Environment Agency. In addition to the daytime program with food stalls and hands-on activities for children, the festival reaches its climax in the evening with the Perupune Fire Festival, where flames dance in the air, and a spectacular fireworks display.

A festival unique to the "Town of Flowers," held in Higashikagura Town, adjacent to Asahikawa City. There are plenty of events, including a first-come, first-served flower giveaway, food stalls offering various cuisines, the "Chobito Gakugeikai," a talent show for local residents, a face-in-hole photo board contest, and singing stages. At night, fireworks sparkle in the night sky of Higashikagura Town.

At the "Sunagawa Summer Festival," you can enjoy fireworks, food, music, and Bon dancing all in one place. After enjoying the music stage, Bon dancing festival, food trucks, and stalls, the excitement reaches its peak with a fireworks show that colors the night sky. The fireworks can also be viewed from around the water management building, and you can relax and enjoy them by bringing a folding chair or a picnic blanket.

The night view from Otaru's Mt. Tengu is popular as one of "Hokkaido's Three Great Night Views," and the fireworks display unfolding alongside the view from its summit is breathtaking. The ropeway is also in operation, providing good access, so you can easily enjoy the luxurious scenery of the night view and fireworks. Limited-time food and drinks, as well as children's festival games, are also planned.

The inaugural "Muroran Manten Hanabi" will color the night sky with about 30,000 fireworks, one of Hokkaido's largest and a top-class display nationwide. In addition to the fireworks, there will be plenty of content for the whole family to enjoy, including live performances by famous artists, a gourmet area with about 80 stalls from within and outside Hokkaido, and the "Manten Amusement Park" featuring bouncy castles and even dinosaurs. Honbetsu Town's largest festival, held with the arrival of autumn. On the first day, about 6,000 fireworks sparkle in the night sky. A major appeal is that there are no obstructions, allowing for a relaxed viewing of the fireworks. The second day is lively with music and dance stages, and various attractions.

Kushiro City's largest event, which brilliantly marks the end of summer in Kushiro. The name "Donpaku" comes from the 'don' sound of fireworks and 'paku,' the sound of gobbling up delicious food. In addition to delicious food stalls and events, the event's centerpiece is one of Hokkaido's largest sanjaku-dama (3-foot shell) fireworks.

About 18,000 fireworks, including beautiful starmines and creative designs, are synchronized with music and launched into the autumn night sky of Sapporo. The production by Yamazaki Fireworks Manufacturing, which has won awards like the Prime Minister's Award at national competitions, is also a highlight.

This lakeside fireworks display celebrates its 44th anniversary this year. Every night, the fireworks are launched from a boat that moves across the lake, so you can watch them from anywhere in the Lake Toya Onsen town area. Some hotels offer views from guest rooms or large public baths, and enjoying fireworks while soaking in a hot spring, a unique experience to Lake Toya Onsen, is a special treat.

This fireworks display is held at Jigokudani (Hell Valley), the source of Hokkaido's popular Noboribetsu Onsen. The sight of the "Yukijin" (guardian deities of the hot springs) who are said to reside in Hell Valley launching powerful demon fireworks into the night sky like a volcanic eruption is truly spectacular. The Tezutsu hanabi (hand-held fireworks), which pray for everyone's happiness and protection from misfortune, shoot up to a height of 8 meters in a stunning display that draws huge cheers from the crowd.
