Hokkaido is now in the midst of the autumn foliage season! There are many places famous for their autumn foliage in Hokkaido, each with its own unique autumn scenery. Here are some limited-time-only events that will allow you to enjoy the autumn leaves even more.

Sapporo Kokusai Ski Resort's gondola is now in special operation as the "Autumn Leaves Gondola" only during this season! You can enjoy a walk in the air while looking down at the autumn leaves spreading all over the area. The view from the gondola is also wonderful, and from the 360° panoramic observation platform at the top of the mountain, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Ishikari Port and Otaru Port.

There is also a mountaintop café where soft-serve ice cream is popular, a restaurant, and a souvenir corner.

Buses that can take you to the five major foliage areas in Jozankei are now operating from the Jozankei Tourist Information Center for a limited time each! Guided bus tours with local volunteer guides are also available, so you don't need to have any prior knowledge of the area to enjoy the tour. Since the buses depart from the Tourist Information Center, you can enjoy the autumn leaves while sightseeing in Jozankei Onsen!

The Jozankei Onsen area, one of the five major foliage areas, offers colorful autumn foliage due to the rocky surface of the valley with large differences in temperature and the abundantly flowing river. At the Toyohirakyo Dam, you can view the beauty of the arch dam, the best in Hokkaido, and the magnificent nature, and at the Sapporo Kokusai Ski Resort, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the autumn leaves and Ishikari Bay from the gondola.

Jozankei Farm offers not only autumn foliage, but also fruit picking and other activities. In the Hakkenzan area, there is a horseback riding club, an orchard, and a winery. Please enjoy the five major autumn foliage areas, each with its own merits.

The "Miracle Illuminate," now in its fourth year, is being held on an expanded scale with more power! Visitors can enjoy not only the illumination of the autumn leaves, but also colorfully projected images of waterfalls, rivers, and carpets of autumn leaves that change according to the movement of people.

Illumination and photo spots are also set up in the shopping street near the parking lot under the title of "Shopping Street Night Stroll," where visitors can enjoy a stroll while heading to Momijidani, the site of the Miracle of Illuminate IV. Hokkaido is dotted with many spots that can be visited for sightseeing, not only for the autumn foliage, but also for activities, gourmet food, and hot springs nearby.
