Eco-Rin Village
In order to realize our wish "to reduce the environmental burden and contribute to the formation of a sustainable society," we have developed a small community "village" while valuing the connection with the natural environment, including plants and animals. That is "Ekorin-mura".
Ecology theme garden opened in Eniwa City, Hokkaido in June 2006. The total site area is 150 hectares, most of which is farmland, with up to 1,000 sheep grazing on the land. The village has an English-style garden with seasonal flowers, a campground, and tourist facilities such as the Tomato Forest, which was certified as the world's largest tomato tree in 2013.
In addition, the "Ecorin Village School and Ecorin Village Children," an environmental education program for local children (3rd to 6th graders) launched in 2007, enriches their contact with nature, including life-nurturing concepts, cooperation, and food education, and contributes to the formation of a sustainable, recycling-oriented society and culture in harmony with the environment. The "Children of the Village" program is sponsored by the Urban Greening Organization of Japan.
The company received the "10th Green Society Contribution Award Special Prize" sponsored by the Urban Greenery Organization.
